Introduced by Wilhelm Pfitzer Nursery, Germany, Canna 'Crimson Beauty' is a medium sized Premier Group cultivar; green foliage, oval shaped, maroon margin, spreading habit; oval main stems, coloured green; triangular flower stalks, coloured green; flowers are reflexed, self-coloured crimson, staminodes are medium size, edges regular, petals red, fully self-cleaning, outstanding bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is prolific.

Canna 'Crimson Beauty' is available from specialist growers.

(T) Plants of this are generally tall and bear medium sized, dark red flowers with daintily reflexed petals. The green leaves have a fine dark rim. There is some doubt that the stock now available under this name is original as there are earlier references to it being a dwarf raised by Wilhelm Pfitzer. In the USA there are some stocks that fit this latter description.
