Introduced by Thor Dalebø of Normandy, France in 2006, Canna 'Laura Dalebø' is a small Premier Group cultivar; green foliage, small, ovoid shaped, acute apex, white margin, branching habit; triangular main stems, coloured green; flowers are open, white with pale pink spots, staminodes are medium size, edges frilled, labellum is white with old-rose stripes, stamen is white with old-rose stripes, style is white, petals yellow, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in early summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white; tillering is prolific.

Canna 'Laura Dalebø' is available from specialist growers. Named for my favourite youngest daughter, who never fails to cheer. She has given me wonderful grandchildren, who have gone on to give me great grandchildren.

Who would have thought that one day I'd be a great-grandfather? I remember being amazed that I reached 30 years old!
