Originally from canna friend, Don Martinson, who named the variety 'Rose Garden' from where in Thailand this seed was collected, and again from canna friend Dennis Bishop under the name 'Thai Princess'. Don describes the two varieties as "siblings" from the same lot of seed collected in 1999 from Rose Garden, Thailand, a town along the Ta Chine River. Any differences in color may be due to differences in soil and climate.
