Canna 'Alba Rosea' is a medium sized cultivar; green foliage, lanceolate shaped, acute apex, spreading habit; round main stems, coloured purple; triangular flower stalks, coloured purple; spikes of flowers are open, rose and amber, throat rose, staminodes are medium size, edges regular, stamen is amber, style is pale pink, petals purple, fully self-cleaning, average bloomer, flowers in summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white; tillering is slow.

The "Peachblow" Canna. The most distinct variety of Canna known at the present time. The sheath which encloses the flower is light bronze, the stem deep bronze; the opening flower protruding shows a point of bright yellow, very pretty and distinct. It is in the fully expanded flower, however, that the great beauty is shown. The base of the petals is rich deep rose, tinting upwards through the light rose into flesh pink, until the colour emerges imperceptibly into creamy white, fully one-half the flower being the latter color - the general effect reminding one of the coloring in the celebrated "Peachblow Vase". The flowers are held at right angles from the stem, not crowded, so that each is distinct and the effect is very graceful. The foliage is dark green; height 5 feet.
