Canna 'Flamméche' is a Miniature Group cultivar; green foliage, small, oval shaped, acute apex, white margin, branching habit; round main stems, coloured purple; spikes of flowers are cupped, self-coloured orange, staminodes are medium size, edges regular, labellum is orange with yellow centre and orange markings, stamen is orange, petals purple with farina, fully self-cleaning, flowers in early summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; seed is sterile, pollen is fertile; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and purple; tillering is prolific.
Canna 'Flamméche' is available from specialist growers. The name flamméche is Luxembourg-French for flamenco, and suits this little dancer down to the ground.
