Introduced by Herb Kelly, USA, Canna 'Freckles' is a small Premier Group cultivar; green foliage, long oval shaped, acute apex, branching habit; oval main stems, coloured green; triangular flower stalks, coloured green; clusters of flowers are open, light yellow with red spots, staminodes are medium size, edges regular, petals green, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in early summer until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not self-pollinating or true to type, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and pink; tillering is good.
Canna 'Freckles' is available from specialist growers.
