Introduced by Thor Dalebø of Normandy, France in 2005, Canna 'Theresa Blakey' is a small Premier Group cultivar; bronze foliage, oval shaped, acute apex, spreading habit; clusters of flowers are open, apricot (RHS 33B) with a salmon (RHS 29A) blush, staminodes are medium size, edges irregular, stamen is marked with gold, petals purple, fully self-cleaning, good bloomer, flowers in late spring until frosts, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, not known if true to type, not self-pollinating, capsules round; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured white and purple; tillering is prolific.
Canna 'Theresa Blakey' is available from specialist growers; breeding is C. 'Louis Cottin' x C. 'Jessie Dalebø'.
Nothing can replace the real Theresa Blakey, but this is a fitting tribute to a special person.

A compact canna with almost black leaves and apricot flowers with a salmon-pink blush extending out of the throat.
The stature is small, 50cm (1'9") . The foliage is dark, almost black. Flowers are apricot (33B) with a salmon pink (29A) blush. The breeding is Canna 'Louis Cottin' x C. 'Jessie Dalebö' Fertile both ways.
